2017 - A New Year.... A New You?

It's the second day of the "new year".....the party hats, crackers and streamers are crumpled and lying in the recycling bin, the empty champagne bottles are waiting to be returned and the new year is upon us with the promise of wonderful things ahead. So how are your newly minted resolutions coming along?

Whether these commitments were written down on a sticky note, the back of a school permission form, a napkin, a lovely new journal or simply mental notes, I would hazard a guess that many resolutions included being more organized and living a more simple (yet elegant) life. Like most resolutions, there are many levels that you can take these commitments to. You can go ahead and declutter your tupperware drawer or refold your underwear drawer and check off the resolution as complete. Or you can approach organization as something beyond simply refolding/relabelling and consider it a lifestyle commitment. Taking a quote from Marie Kondo (organizing guru) - "Keep only those things that speak to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest. By doing this, you can reset your life and embark on a new lifestyle."

Organization is by no means an easy feat, particularly in the busy world that we live in. Where does one even start - home, work, family, oneself? There is no sudden leap to greatness. Your success lies in doing day by day. Firstly, commit to beginning this process with yourself - organize your look. Start with a drawer, maybe two...... move to a dresser and eventually your closet.
