New Season, New Adventures

Ever since we were little girls, the weeks leading up to summer vacation would fill us with so much excitement and promise of adventure that we could barely sleep. On the cusp of a new summer season, we can't help but feel that excitement build again. This time it's not about staying up well after dark, living in bathing suits or seeing how dark our flip flop tan lines can get (ok, we still love that!). The excitement stems from starting something that has always been our passion and having the honour of sharing it with others. Lisa and I are thrilled to launch Golden Hanger - a style consulting, closet organization and personal shopping service. We are looking forward to sharing time with you and helping you Redefine Your Beautiful.
As we begin on our new adventure and begin a new season, we couldn't think of a better way to start our dialogue then with the Top 5 Summer Trends. We have curated 5 catwalk looks that will help you get inspired and influence you Summer 2016 wardrobe choices. Bring on the heat.......
1. MICROPLEATS
The micro pleated texture is a wonderfully feminine and elegant look for skirts and dresses this season. It adds modern shape to any silhouette while also remaining unstructured, draping in a delicate and flattering fashion on any body type.

2. EXPOSED SHOULDERS
Give your off the shoulder top the cold shoulder! Forget about fussing with an off-the-shoulder top that constantly needs readjustment. This season's take on the trend is secured at the neck and elegantly exposes your neck and shoulders.

3. Slipper Mules
Shoe trends may not always make our feet super happy - not this season. Moving the indoor shoe outdoors, slipper mules are basically like wearing slippers. Except these aren't your grandma's slippers. These are similar to a classic loafer in shape and polished enough to wear with skirt and blouse.

4. Ruffles
Ruffles can evoke images of little girls pink party dresses. To avoid looking too saccharine, use ruffles sparingly and with purpose to create a mature, elegant and romantic look. A more modern twist on this feminine classic is to pair with a more tailored pant or jacket.

5. Elongated Earrings
There is no better way to update your summer wardrobe then with an accessory. Statement earrings that are shoulder grazing will work to create a dramatic effect with almost every hairstyle and neckline and is therefore easy to integrate into your look. The bigger, the bolder, the better.
